Govind Nayar Villa
Mr. Govind Nayar
This contemporary villa located in the middle of the city of Bangalore, is surrounded by thick vegetation. Designed by Architect Vedika from Aantrik Architecture Firm, the idea of the project included highlighting the main entrances which act as parts of a sort of “decumanus” crossing the villa from east to west and bringing out the geometric lines that have been designed for this dwelling. The villa is built on a two level and is composed of a courtyard, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a study, a library, and a terrace. The courtyard is the main focus of the villa, with its lush green vegetation and a small outdoor seating. The living room and dining room are connected to the courtyard and have large openings that allow natural light to enter the space. The bedrooms are located on the other side of the villa, and they all have access to the terrace. The library and study are located first floor of the villa, and they both have access to the terrace. The materials used for the villa are mainly natural stone, wood, and glass. The natural stone is used for the walls and floors, while the wood is used for the furniture and the doors. The villa has a modern and minimalist design, with clean lines and a neutral color palette. The main goal of the project was to create a contemporary and comfortable living space that is surrounded by nature.
