Trendy Lighting design for your Living room

The living room is that part of the house where the family meets, where the most precious things are exhibited – silverware, photos, art objects and valuable objects – where you relax after work, watch TV, read and you’re in the company. Due to its highly versatile nature, this room needs varied and multi-functional lighting.

In modern homes and smaller apartments, the living room is also used as a dining room and increasingly creates an open space with the kitchen, which makes it a very populated environment, lively and a hub for aggregation and relaxation. Such a diversified environment requires the right amount, quality and variety of light, elements that you must weigh with due care both when you buy a new home and when it is being renovated.

The Golden Aura

Living spaces with beige light

Homeowners have fallen in love with colors such as greys, golds and beiges. Soft gold falls right within this spectrum, somewhere in the middle of brushed silver and brushed gold, of soft colors that work so well for contemporary decors to choose from. It borrows the soft matte finish of these two hues while bringing out the warmth and mellowness of gold. This also means that it can blend in with almost any kind of décor.

Soft gold lighting fixtures come in a variety of styles and designs. For overhead lighting, look for fixtures that accentuate the gold. You can also check for fixtures that complement the soft gold with other soft colors like grey or matte silver. Use soft gold lighting to attract attention to specific corners or areas of your living room. A great idea is a soft gold reading lamp illuminating the reading chair and shelf at the corner.

Retro & Industrial Comeback

Industrial has always been about rustic finishes, neutral colors and an emphasis on metal. We are seeing retro making a comeback but in a different way. If you look at modern industrial lighting, there are some stark differences to what you know as traditional industrial.

Use modern retro lighting to create a unique twist to an area. These lighting designs are popular for places like the kitchen work area, above the dining area or as wall lighting. You can even use the fixture itself as a piece of art on the wall or the centerpiece of your home.  Do not be afraid of industrial. It is no longer the brutal, “unfinished” style that belongs to a niche of retro punk fans. With its updated look, it fits perfectly in any 21st century décor.

Illuminating Modern Home

Modern décor is based mostly on clean forms. In a modern home, the complex designs may not blend so well in a clean styled space. So today, homeowners are opting for simpler and cleaner lighting designs that fit in perfectly among modern decors.  The minimalism trend will become even more popular in 2021 as more low-profile fixtures focus on simple geometric designs, neutral soft colors and a prominence of form over extravagant aesthetics.

Smart Light Technology

Of course, smart technology is entering into other areas of life, even when you are not home, you can set up your interior lights to come on at a specific time to make it look like someone is there. This system can be easily installed and can connect to Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri for voice activation. The look of the covers are sleek and modern, more appealing than a typical switch. This technology also has the ability to connect with your GPS location, so when you arrive near your home, the lights will automatically turn on.

While it may not be feasible for some people to set this up in their entire home, it is best to place it  in the main areas of the home, such as the foyer, living room, and kitchen. This will allow you to use the features in the most visited spaces.

Eco-Mix Lighting

Sustainable lights

The capacity to bring nature into your house is an ambition that homeowners have strived for for generations. Among the reasons we like nature a lot is our inherent link to the open and also to natural materials, which are living or decor, including wood, cotton, metal, seagrass, and leather, naming just a few. Choosing items that resonate with your individual style is definitely the first step for getting them to your house. One homeowner might take pleasure in the tough nature of rock wall sconce in their home, while an additional may prefer the more advanced flair of metal pendant lights within their family room.

Designer Lighting are made from natural materials to create or decorate the fixture. It doesn’t have to be one material either. It can be a combination of two, like twine, rope, burlap, and wood beads.

Do not feel any pressure to choose a specific style. The best lighting design is one that you will love and which will work best in your home. The above trends are meant to give you an idea of what you can do with your home lighting in the coming year whether you are renovating or building a new home.
